  • So in addition to my marketing automation agency, I am also 1st VP for WJZZ Detroit Jazz Radio. But at the station we're very entrepreneurial so that means you roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done. Don't know what I'd do without my platform. OMG! This is what I did today. We have a private concert coming up that's free but it also requires an RSVP. There's limited seating so we really have to manage the list. I started with just a simple SMS text approach because I was short on time and wanted something "quick and dirty". I thought it would work but it only works effectively if the guests are already in the database. Since our CEO was sending SMS text invites to new people. This solutions wasn't optimal. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 - How Do I Manage the RSVPs When Guests Are Not in the CRM? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - I changed from a straight SMS text solution and added a landing page containing all of the details. This was a better option for the brand. So, I modified the approach to send a link to the event page and built custom workflows to tag records along the RSVP process and send appropriate custom responses to keep our guests informed. I think the most important thing that entrepreneurs and small business owners need to know about automation is that the most crucial and valuable input is their understanding of their OWN processes. It’s been my experience that automation is a tool that supports a process. A bad process automated is still a bad process. But used correctly in the right doses.
